About

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of History and Art History at George Mason University and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for History and New Media (CHNM). From 2013 to 2015 I was a Digital History Fellow at CHNM. Currently, I am a research assistant on the PressForward project as well as one of the Managing Editors of Digital Humanities Now.

I received both my bachelors and masters degree in history at California State University, San Marcos. My dissertation is tentatively titled “Shaping Up: Physical Fitness Initiatives for Women in the United States, 1890-1965” and it will examine how and why officials perceived a connection between the fit female body and national security.
